Active Child

First off, we are now owners of a new house. There was a little bit of drama, but it worked out in the end. By the way Patti, Leo is blaming you for the little problem we had. Apparently, someone said that there is always a snag in these things. On other news, I had my doctor's appointment today. The baby has grown considerably. Due to the size increase the baby's due date has been pushed up to January 6th not that it really matters all that much. We had another ultrasound, and the child was all over the place. Didn't stop moving the whole time we were watching. It was pretty fun to watch. Leo was excited to see it since he missed the first time. He wasn't excited about watching me have my blood drawn.

For Laughs You Have To Read This

http://next-20-years.blogspot.com/2008/06/this-one-comes-with-disclaimer.html
This was a link from one of the blogs I read. This is her mother's humorous approach to a very sad, bad situation.

Alex is Special Campaign

This is not referring to our Alex even though he is great kid also. This a campaign that was started over the autistic child that was thrown out of his kindergarten class by someone that should never be allowed to by children in my opinion. Since this time, Alex has stated that he isn't special. I am assuming it was probably one of the many things that this teacher had the other kids say to him that day. If you want to read and hopefull partake in the campaign, go to

Sometimes It Is Better Not To Be The One To Know

Well, today I thought it might be a good day to call my grandfather. You ever feel sorry you dialed the phone. He answered like he pretty much usually does. After the typical discussion of the weather, and his latest favorite of have you gotten fat yet, he put my grandmother on the line. I noticed she was overly chipper today. Halfway through the conversation, my grandmother tells me that she has to tell me a secret because she has to tell someone. I couldn't imagine what the thing was. What I didn't expect it to be was the words "I will be seeing you Friday." It took a minute to register what she was saying. Then, it hit. They are planning on coming to wedding, and yes, they weren't going to tell anyone. It is a surprise. Well, being the good daughter I am, I decided that isn't the surprise that either one of my parents needed the day before the wedding. I called them as soon as I got off the phone with my grandparents. Now, I have the job of trying to get all the information out of them. We don't want them to know I talked to my parents becuase then I have to deal with that wrath. I have to find out if the morons got room reservations and where they are planning to say. I also have to find out if my grandparents made oxygen accomodations as she only gets two small cannisters every few days. That is not going to be enough for her to come here and go back home. You know them coming up here has disaster written all over it. Oh, and he is apparently in bad health, so I suggest all stay away from any part of I95 Wednesday to Friday of this week. I am not sure exactly when they have to go home yet. Pap has to get some tests run because his bloodwork isn't good. I don't know what all the tests are. It is really amazing my family doesn't have a real drinking problem because these two are enough to make you drink. Good thing they through in the bar for the wedding reception....wait, I can't drink.

Leo is coming home on Saturday because the packing company will be here on Sunday. As it stands now, we will be living in PA full-time come Wednesday the 25th. It is going to be a very busy few days.

Making New Friends

We all know that my father has had some winning moments in his life. On weekends, he works at Watkins Glen Racetrack. Well, it was a pretty busy weekend, but dad had time to make a new friend. Before the start of the Porsche race, Bob noticed that a driver dropped part of his radio. Well, my dad picked it up and took it to the driver. The driver was very thankful, and even searched out my father after the race. They proceeded to spend most of the afternoon together talking and hanging out. After which, the driver tells my father how refreshing it was to spend time getting to know someone who didn't have another agenda such as asking him for his autograph. My father didn't think he was all that good of a driver, so he couldn't figure out why people would want his autograph, but decides to play the comment off by saying he doesn't like to bother the drivers for things like that. Meanwhile, my father would risk bodily injury to get his favorite driver's autograph. He then starts thinking that this guy must do something else for a living. He calls my sister later in the day to ask her if she knows this Patrick Dempsey guy. She proceeds to tell him that he is one of the hottest actors in Hollywood right now and he is on the top show on TV. She couldn't believe that he had no idea who spent the afternoon and made friends. Of course, my dad probably would have screwed his new friendship up if he knew who it was, but it does go to show how these people are just normal people.

Out With the Old

Today Leo went to Home Depot and bought a new dishwasher for our house. The old one was barely working and he felt that it would be an extra incentive for someone to buy the house. It never hurts to add some new things after all. Leo got a real good deal on the it, so the price couldn't be beat. He spent all night unhooking the old one and then starting to hook up the new one. It looks pretty good. He does have to get a longer hose so that it can be used. He should finish up the project tomorrow. That is the latest goings on over here.

Happy Brithday!

This here picture is the only one that I had of the birthday girl. I especially enjoy Dad in the background looking like one of the senile patients that escaped from the home. I figured it fit his comments from the day. Back to the brithday girl though.....as being an oldest child obviously I didn't have any older siblings. It is nice actually being the youngest person in the family surrounded by people eith 40 or pushing 40. It is nice to know that I will be the last to hit any major age milestones for a change. I don't get to say that for my own family. Also, in saying that, it is nice having older siblings to make fun of and to find wonderful pictures such as this one to put on the internet for all to see. Did you really think I was going to be nice in all this? Happy Brithday Christine.

Change

I got rid of the pink blog. I got thinking that it might lead to unthinkable things. No reason to take a chance to lead to jinxing things. Yes, I probably need some sort of mental intervention, but it is the way my works. Speaking of changes, my grandparents are putting their house on the market and already have someone interested in it. Don't worry my mom is all on this and has scoped out a retirement community for them to live. My aunt and uncle already live there, and love it. Even better, they will be 20 minutes away from family and two hours from me which is a more important buffer zone. For those of you making fun of my family over their apparent lack of enthusiasm over the new baby, my mother has already bought numerous outfits in neutral colors and got the fabric for a fleece Steelers blanket for my sister to make. Wait to we find out what we are having, and the woman will be on a mission. We are just waiting around for the big wedding to take place in a few weeks. It should be fun.
